On this page we will be posting some info where to look when are looking to adopt a berner. And also berners looking for homes. Alway's ask lots of questions, there are some rescues out there that are not doing it for  the right reasons, just like when you research breeders, make sure you work with a good rescue to find the best match for your family.

When you are starting to look to adopt you will notice there are many rescues out there. To find one that makes sure that the berner is a good fit with your home is the key.

Sometimes berners show up in shelters too, when you adopt from a shelter there will be no support after you bring your berner home, feel free to join our facebook group "bernese friends worldwide" when you need support after you adopt. Long time berner owners and many have adopted and can help you with support and advice.

A good rescue makes sure that a dog is a good fit with their new home. They get to know the dog in foster care, give them training when needed. The berner will be vaccinated , spayed or neutered and will have health issues taken care off. Full disclosure will be given in the interviews so the new family knows what the health and behaviour issues are.
